Aero-News Network - Propwash Issue 12/29/09:
"Sarasota, and their partner Leading Edge Aviation (out of Vandenberg Field, KVDF)
did an amazing job in just about three weeks.. and under the pressure of a truly
formidable deadline. Even with some new antennas and the necessary paint matching...
there was nary a scratch, blemish, mismatch or gizmo out of place. I've never had
as overtly a positive experience on a project this massive/critical and to say the
least, we can't recommend these guys highly enough. In the East Coast avionics community,
which is filled with some of the best (and worst) companies in the nation, Sarasota
stands taller than all the rest. We were pretty damned impressed."

The plane has been flying GREAT!! Everywhere I go, I wear my Sarasota Avionics hat and
have business cards. On the trip back to Monroe in February, I had 2 pilots approach me in
Destin, 5 in Hattiesburg, MS, and 2 in Bastrop, LA. I get similar attention everytime I fly.
Sarasota Avionics will always do my annuals going forward!
Steve A.:
Nathan did a great job wrapping up the details. Everything seems to be working as advertised.
I’ve always felt the difference between an adequate shop and a great shop is the follow up when
problems arise. Y'all didn’t hesitate to take care of the gremlins when they showed up and that
puts you in the great shop category. Thanks for the follow up!

I have been using Sarasota Avionics for a very long time and have never been disappointed.
Over time these folks have upgraded nearly every avionics component in my airplane.
The most recent effort was the installation of an Aspen PFD and a Garmin 530 WAAS.
Kirk did a great job advising me and designing and planning the installation, and
Fred completed it beautifully, including a new floating panel and a cleaned up panel
harness. Truly an excellent job! In addition, I have always been pleased with the
follow-up service. Sometimes things crop up -- and the troubleshooting can be soooo
frustrating. Well, Kirk possesses a very deep understanding of the issues, and is
relentless to be sure things turn out as they should. These guys stay at it until
it is done right. As a result, I fly with total confidence in my avionics. Finally,
the story wouldn't be complete without mentioning Debbie {shipping} who cheerfully
keeps the correct parts on hand and Jeff whose understanding of avionics more than
once has quickly resolved some strange behaving problems. Thanks, everyone, for
treating me so well.
George S.:
Mike,
I want to thank you again for personally getting involved to resolve the problem
with my Garmin 696. You definitely demonstrated service after the sale. This is
the second Garmin product I have purchased from you (first was the 496) while attending
a trade show and I want you to know that you represent your company well. There
are many companies that sell the Garmin products, but for me, the efforts you put
forth to solve my problem on the 696 you sold me at Oshkosh sets you and your company
heads and shoulders above most others. Keep up the good work and know you have a
very satisfied customer who will recommend Sarasota Avionics and Mike Swiader to
all who ask me where I purchased my 696.
Fred C.:
Dear Ryan and Larry,
Thank you so much for giving up your Sunday to get me flying again in the Mooney.
The G600 was simple and easy to fly. Please tell George he did an EXCELLENT job
on the installation! Everything fits very nicely and I recommend that anyone who
puts in a G500/600 should spend the extra 2K for the panel. If you have any prospective
customers on the east coast who want to see a completed installation, I will be
happy to show them my plane. Thanks again for coming in on Sunday to get me back
in the air!
David B.:
Kirk,
you installed a complete panel upgrade for me on my 1978 Cherokee Six a several
years ago. I have had a few other panel modifications done since that time and I
thought you might want to hear what other avionics shops have been telling me about
your work. Every time some other avionic tech or mechanic looks behind the panel
they go out of their way to tell me how impressed they are with the installation
and wiring. I had the owner of one avionics shop take pictures of your work and
then require his employees to look at the installation as an example of how quality
work should be done. Yesterday after having a shop install some glare shield lighting,
the installer told me he has been working in electronics for more than 20 years
and that the wiring of my radios was one of the best he had ever seen. I tend to
be stingy with compliments but when I keep getting the same feedback 5 years after
your job was completed, I decided to take the time to share this with you. Please
share this e-mail with your installers and staff.
Richard F.:
Wanted to let you know how satisfied I am with the Sarasota Avionics sales and installation
service. Top notch, under the quoted time for the install (less than 2 weeks!),
and did more for me, and exactly for the price quoted. The best. Special thanks
to Kirk Fryar the technical director and to Bill Snead in sales. I will be back,
and spend more.
Peter H.: (as published in the EAA Chapter 282 February Newsletter)
May I take the liberty of recommending for your consideration Sarasota Avionics
International. I had a problem with my S-tec autopilot and Kirk Fryar, the service
manager there, fixed it promptly (while I waited) and at a fair price. He even downloaded
a software update into my Garmin 396 at no charge. Having had considerable problems
with [another avionics shop in the area, name redacted], I was looking for a better
option. Sarasota Avionics International was a great find. Sarasota Avionics has
two locations, Sarasota Airport and Venice Airport, but just one phone number 1-866-539-4078.
Kirk is at the Venice location. By air, Venice isn't much further from Clearwater
than Lakeland and certainly easy to fly into. Sometimes a little extra help from
a professional avionics shop can make a big difference in customer satisfaction.
It did with me.
James K.:
Dear Kirk,
Thank you for the prompt and friendly service as well as the use of your personal
vehicle. We appreciated the follow-up on the autopilot and attitude indicator. All
our future business will be coming your way and we will recommend you to any other
pilots with instrument problems.
