Upgrading to the Vantage 12 flight display system is a game-changer for your G2 or G3 Cirrus. Avidyne's four-step plan makes it easy to prepare your aircraft for a seamless installation. Here’s how to get started:
Install the DFC90 Digital Autopilot
Replace your legacy Stec-55X with the precision of the DFC90 autopilot. Your current Entegra E1 PFD will need a MOD55 upgrade for compatibility and MODXX for WAAS support—both essential steps toward unlocking full Vantage functionality.
Upgrade GPS Navigator and Transponder
Swap one of your GPS navigators with the IDF540, offering WAAS capabilities, modern navigation, and seamless integration with the DFC90 autopilot. At the same time, install the AXP322 remote transponder to free up space for the larger display. Add ADS-B In, if you don’t already have it, with the SkyTrax200 for enhanced situational awareness.
Upgrade Second GPS Navigator and Audio Panel
Replace your second GPS Navigator with the IFD440. This gives you dual WAAS-enabled GPS|NAV|COM capability—ideal for IFR operations. It’s also a great opportunity to replace your factory audio panel with the AMX240 for cleaner audio and better integration.

Trade-in Consideration:
An IFD540 is strongly recommended for the #1 GPS/NAV/COM. To encourage this configuration Avidyne will take an existing IFD440 (in good working condition) in exchange for a factory refurbished IFD540 (with full 2 year factory warranty) at no charge.

Notes and Conditions:
The published pricing for the Vantage displays reflects a credit for the return of the Entegra PFD and MFD. The Entegra PFD & MFD must be removed from the aircraft in Serviceable condition and returned to Avidyne. Failure to return the Entegra displays within 30 days will result in a charge of $5K each.
Dual Avidyne IFDs are required. GNS and/or GTNs are not supported by Vantage. An IFD540 is strongly recommended for the #1 GPS/NAV/COM. To encourage this configuration Avidyne will take an existing IFD440 in exchange for a factory refurbished IFD540 (with full 2 year factory warranty) at no charge. The IFD440 must be removed from the aircraft in Serviceable condition and returned to Avidyne within 30 days. Configuring the IFD540 in the rack will require a remote mounted transponder option (AXP 322 or NGT9000R). The aircraft must be equipped with externally mounted WAAS GPS antennas for the IFDs. Glareshield mounted antennas do not provide reliable GPS performance.
The recommended Audio Panel for a Vantage configuration is the Avidyne AMX240. The AXM240 provides a bezel design that is consistent with the IFDs and DFC90, monitoring of standby frequencies on both IFDs, and Bluetooth.
If the aircraft is not configured with a Skywatch, Avidyne recommends the AXP322 remote transponder/ADS-B out and SkyTrax 200 remote dual band ADS-B in receiver. Existing SkyTrax 100B and SkyTrax 200 can be field updated to software rev 1.03 for audio alerting. The Skytrax 200 will provide traffic hybridization with the traffic output of the Skywatch so all displays and the wireless traffic feed will show combined Skywatch (active) and ADS-B traffic. If the aircraft is configured with a legacy Skywatch TAS system, the recommended remote solution is the NGT9000R with the TAS enablement. This is a single box solution that provides transponder/ADS-B out, dual band ADS-B in, and TAS functionality. In most cases it utilizes the existing aircraft antennas and can be mounted under the pilot seat. This can be optioned to provide diversity transponder capability as required in Canada and for some other applications and locations. Existing MLB100, MLB100A, Skytrax 100 or FreeFlight ADS-B in products are not supported and should be replaced by a SkyTrax 200.
Avidyne strongly recommends that the DFC90 be installed in an Avidyne DFC tray as the older S-Tec trays have historically caused intermittent issues. The tray is included if a new DFC90 is ordered. If a customer has a DFC90 installed in an S-Tec tray, a standalone DFC tray must be ordered.
All of the Vantage flight deck components are provided with Avidyne’s standard warranty of 2 years from the date of installation. Customers with Entegra warranties will receive a refund pro-rated for the time remaining after the Vantage installation. Customers should contact Avidyne technical support directly to request a refund.
